My visit to Powis Castle was highly anticipated, as its stunning gardens and historic architecture captivated me. Choosing the Royal for my stay felt perfect given its proximity to the castle. I was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic team, who provided a level of service that made my experience nice. The traditional bar offered a fantastic range of drinks, enhancing the cosy atmosphere and making it a wonderful place to unwind after a day of exploring. I also enjoyed a good slice of cake with fantastic coffee, which added a sweet touch to my trip.
the overall decor was somewhat tired, with some areas appearing shabby, like a cracked pane of glass in my bedroom window held together with tape.

Lovely welcoming, spotless hotel with really friendly and accommodating personnel with the service and friendly nature of the property staff. A lounge area, an iron, and blinds in the room, marvellous and lovely location:)))

The place was well priced. Plenty of food for breakfast, which was splendid to satisfy everyone. The location was magnificent, just a short stroll away from Powysland Museum. Plus it was in a local area.

Room was good
Parking was appalling, staff told us to go and park in a public car park that we were assured was free, sadly it was not - so we got a ticket. Car park was full due to the hotel having two christmas parties in on friday night, on Saturday morning it was only half full - obviously being used by non-residents

The value for our stay was excellent, and the room was bothvery comfy and tidy. The staff were pretty good, particularly Chris, whose friendly demeanor really enhanced our experience.
The hotel breakfast menu could use a bit more variety.

An old building with lots of character such as wonky stairs and squeeky floorboards. It was however surprisingly quiet (from experience) of some older hotels is they tend to be noisy and uncomfortable. Staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful.
Room was reasonable - clean and functional. I would investigate the upgrade rooms for further stays as the basic room was very basic for a multiple night stay.
